We worked with icipe to set up farmer training demo sites across different locations in Kenya to showcase Black Soldier Flies. The scientists had specific structural designs that they wanted our team to implement on ground and this meant we had to redesign our structures to accomodate these needs which were crucial for the survival of Black Soldier Flies.

This project has been awarded the prestigious, USD 1 million Curt Bergfors Foundation Food Planet Prize, from about 650 global nominations, in recognition of the Centre’s pioneering research and development (R&D) activities on insects for food, feed and other uses.
